I saw this pic on the Lightner Museum's webpage advertising a display of vintage bikes. Wife and I to visit it this weekend or next......
I think that was a traveling exhibit. Lightner is always worth a visit. It's one of my favorite stops. The old store in front of the Old Jail attraction has several shaft driven vintage bikes.

Good question. I've seen those types of shows many times and never really thought about it.

Those are INGO scooters from the 1930s. The rear wheel is spoked up with the hub off center vertically. You propel yourself forward like swinging on a swing. The inventor rode one from Chicago to Miami as a publicity stunt. I've seen them rarely at museums and auctions. I built a few "rodeo" bikes with both wheels off set. Ye Hah.
