The Ghost of a Hurricane

Decided to make a build thread to keep up with this monster. My dream bike is a 71 Grey ghost, but I’m not paying what they are goin for. Cue this baby.

‘79 Silver mist og patina Hurricane. Cheap stripped eBay find. Seriously why take the kickstand out to sell it? Anyways.

I’ve been johnny cashing the thing together for a while now and it’s starting to take shape.

New orange krate front wheel (direct from the factory, cheaper that way) new Walmart err-innova front tire too.

Here’s its current state.

Now for the fun part, getting the rear triangle useable.

Before. Wheel is perfectly spaced in the lower tubes, rubbing in the top tubes.

After, a whole lot better. Thank goodness for the park tool FFS-2 and some effort.

Got a parts rig in this 77 fairlady for all sorts of hardware dirt cheap

Then on to fitting the ‘17 repop guard with the set of issues you’d expect …

So these two will have to become one

good enough other than an extra hole!

Seats cost a good bit so I decided to vinyl paint this fairlady one

But it turned out pretty decent.

Still need a rear fender and to pick me out some pedals!
