Not much progress lately, still waiting for the tires. However I was able to get new handle bars and the stem I needed (will post later). I've have also been thinking about safety lately so to have peace of mind I intend to replace my current forks with similar ones equipped for V-brakes, especially that I am planning to go fast with this ride :)

Anyway, I had a fun weekend riding with my boys from the Baywalk Beach Cruisers while meeting up with Kingfish who's on vacation in the Philippines with his wife. Good times!

Thank all of the BBC gang for riding out and showing me such a fun time!
I had a blast meeting everyone, talking about bikes, and discovering that I have been practicing "budol" in my wheeling and dealing!
What a great group of guys! More of them should join the Build Off!

Been up and about and just gathering the parts I'll be using. Hopefully I will be able to complete the project before the deadline :)

Safety has been in my mind lately so I kinda changed my mind on the fork. I will now be using a V-brake 26" rigid for this build with coaster brakes in the rear.

Looking forward to seeing some of those parts put together!

Looks like you're full up on 3rd party hosting from your "free" account at photobucket. Others have had this problem lately. It's easy to post directly to RRB now, you should check it out.

Carl.

Or just dump some pics off the back end. I mean you uploaded them so you have them some where else..

I thought it was just some networking issue at work. Thanks for the tip. I'll just reupload everything. :)

Still having problems posting photos using 3rd party hosting, I cannot re-upload/replace/edit them. Suggestions would be appreciated. So in the meantime I'm re-uploading these for the benefit of the new visitors to this thread :)

Here are the parts I will end up using.

I'm curious as to how well those tires handle the road.

I'm curious as to how well those tires handle the road.

The bike is actually done I had a test ride down our street, just once. It's been raining here the whole week (rainy season) so I wasn't able to take photos yet or made a significant trip to share my experience with the tires. However, the first thing I noticed during my test ride was that you don't feel any bounce at all...being solid and all (even with the holes). You know how it's like when you grab the front part of your bike/stem, raise it up to a certain height and let it drop and the tire bounces? Well with this tire on you just get a "thud" on the floor when you drop it, hahaha. I think it's better suited for the road rather than off-road as you cannot change the tire pressure, I could be wrong though. Hopefully I can take it out for a longer ride and take some photos.

I love those tires!
Like I said before, lightly spray some silver inside the holes to make it stand out.
