My favourite Aussie Ford GT. XA coupe.Looking great so far, love the idea. My aunt had a lime green muscle car when I was a kid. I loved it.
So this build brings me down memory lane. View attachment 230990

I am a fan of number 2 as well, they have that 60s ape look.Better angle to view the ape hanger options.

I'm liking option 2, but with the gooseneck (quill stem) from number 1.
Started the 2nd phase of tank construction tonight.

I’ve had good luck with a small/thin flathead screwdriver or precision screw driver and windex.I needed to get the grips off ape hanger number 2. The bars had been outdoors for a year and a half and the grips were rock hard.
That usually works for me, but these grips were rock hard. No screwdriver was getting in without breaking the grips.I’ve had good luck with a small/thin flathead screwdriver or precision screw driver and windex.
Jam the screwdriver between the grip and the bar as far as you can, then, blast windex into the opening. Remove the screwdriver and give the grip a twist. Should slide right off.
