So, now that the BO is over and life has settled back to a normal routine (or has it?), have folks figured out what their next build project will be? I've got two Schwinn frames that I want to work with, but each in two very different design directions.
The first is a '51 (IIRC) BF Goodrich-badged straight bar frame:
I'd probably do this one as a proper rat rod, should we ever determine what that is. The paint looks OK in this picture, but it really is very rough, especially underneath the tubes. It's pretty scaley and would likely need some sort of paint job.
The second is this ~1947 DX:
This is already missing a lot of the original parts, so making it what ever I want isn't really an issue of moral discussion. It is red, however, underneath all that flat black. I had kind of an odd idea for this one, to essentially build it up like a European city bike, with market carriers, 650B wheels, maybe even drop bars. I've had the idea buzzing around in my head that a drop-bar cruiser would be interesting for a while. But the idea isn't particularly fleshed out.
So, any thoughts or input? Anybody have an opinion as to which to tackle first?
