I used to smoke. I would smoke djarm specials, clove cigarettes. They were very enjoyable but the first act in office by President Obama was to have me quit smoking. He made selling them in the US illegal in 2009 to "protect the children" and I was pissed, but am much better off for it. But this isn't about my smoking, this about someone else's habit.
you needed to redeem 2,200 "Marlboro Miles" and pay an additional $110.00. A smoker received 5 Marlboro Miles for each pack purchased so 440 packs would have to be consumed to earn enough miles. - the folding cyclist
Thats quite a smoking habit to have an think you are gonna be biking anywhere. What is said that happened was that people got this reward delivered and then didn't use them much. I happened to find an ad in CL that was selling one for a $20. It was still available so I went and picked it up. the pics werent too close up in the ad so I was unsure of how bad this thing would be, it was stored on a patio right on the border of Huntington beach with the shore in view from the second floor. Other bikes i've picked from that area usually have so much rust on the frame or rims, the aluminum seatpost and neck have melded with the steel frame and the corrosion to the metal from rus is something that truly makes you realize rust is lterally eating as it spreads. Suprisingly, this one came in great shape. It was dirty, the components were bottom rung fair... but otherwise it was all useable. So I threw alot of it aside and did my own thing.
I think it came out kind of cool looking. much better than the way it was when people were killing themselves to have one.
