Want to get rid of those pesky cotter cranks?
I had this brioni frame that I've wanted to do something with for years. It's the lightest steel frame I've come across. I don't know if that's because it's junk or what, but it's light. The problem was it had the Thompson bb. I couldn't just jam some one piece crank I had laying around in it.
I researched bearings and I found a bearing with the same od, my caliper is dead right now but I want to say it was a 40mm od, 19mm id, and the width was really close, if not the same as the tubular 3 piece crank that are used on bmx. I tried to find a cheap used set but after sitting on this frame and bearings I caved and bought the cheapest new set I could find.
But here it is. Standard bmx spindle jammed in a thompson bb frame.
