Back in May I started to use the Strava app. http://www.strava.com/
Nice app. with lots of features

Check out the mileage.... over 1500 miles not bad in eight months for a old guy bent into a pretzel;)

My favorite part is the elevation gain.... It's a little flat here.

What my two most common rides look like...

The "long" ride

The "short" ride

The bikes I put the miles on...

Thanks for looking!

We have a web site at work for us commuters to keep track of miles and days ridden . That's me in the #5 spot I was a little lazy this year.

Nonsense. You've made the podium for total days; Gene and Maxwell just have longer commutes... hence, greater miles.

Skipton is averaging 7.2 miles/day, on the days he rides. Which is still awesome.... but you're ahead of him.
I thought he did the 8.8 there, and 5.4 home? Roughly 14 a day.

And I really like this pic. Super cool.

Whoops. I see now. Its past my bed time. :crazy2:

Thanks Guys!

Gary I think you and I probably have within 200 miles of each others totals.
yours might be higher. (would be cool to get people at work to track miles)
The 1500 is since May... Sometimes I forget to record the ride:(

Thanks TuckTuck!
I like this pic also!

Its a little confusing.... I try to always ride the 8.8 route both ways.. but sometimes weather and the fact I just want to get home causes me to take the short way to work or home.o_O

On a side note my mother grew up in Flint.... As a kid I always liked driving up from Ann Arbor and having a Halo Burger with my Grandparents.

Nice work in racking up the miles. My office is about 2 miles from my house so my commute miles don't rack up to much. I think the most important point is that we choose to leave the car at home and put the fun between our legs.

Cman that was my point we leave our cars at home. The web site is fun we have a lot of riders and many don't even track miles. Max and I ride together when his shifts line up with my day shifts.
Wayne hasent used a car for work in 6 solid years!
Dave plows the bike path with his bike pulling an 18" V shaped plow. He has several designs. Just yesterday I saw 6 bald eagles on the river path.
Skipton sees the beautiful lake and skyline every day. I turn 63 in a week and hope I can keep the riding up till I retire.
Hope every one has a wonderful Christmas .
Gary

I do love the ride.... Here in the city it's a lot faster and less of a headache then driving.....
Plus I love riding bikes I have built. It works out great that I get to build them then ride them everyday.
By the time I get to work I'm energized and ready to work. This time of year I get the whole lakefront path to myself...... Plus I don't have to plow it like Gary and his hardcore friends. ;)

I've been using endomundo to track my rides, think I might have to give that app a try

You guys are hard core dedicated, that's for sure. Keep up the good work. Gary, I noticed that there are no lady commuters on the list. Maybe none where you work, or??? Gary

Gary this is just some it, a screen shot of part of the list. Total riders are over 200 total I think.

Ok Skipton, I down loaded the app. and will start using it. I ride 8.4 miles each way to work. BUT NO SNOW! I don't do snow anymore. I ride daily, rain or shine, just short of hurricane winds.
Singles, fixie, and track bikes make your legs bigger! Currently at a 32" waist but needing 36" to fit.my legs in them....
What about time vs. Mph? Your rides are burdened by some heavy weather my friend, is this a race?!!!!
This should be interesting, I ride weekends also, about 30 miles.....
