It's the way you mount a rear derailleur onto a bike that that has no derailleur mount.

Sorry thirdcoast I started the derailleur talk... I think I might add a 7 speed hub to the back of one to make it easier to peddle... no need to add if you just want the 1 speed with coaster brake...

lots easier for sure ! you could even get a 3 " inch meat between those tubes! just P-U-L-L !!!!!! :shock:
