No. I found that once you put the unit together and adjust it, it works fine. The pressure holds the whole thing together fine. Personally, I wouldn't chose that over a system that can be tightened. On this particular system the crank arm is bent, and when I replace it I'm sure it will be with a threaded one.So basically, you've got a sprocket, a spacing washer, and a couple of pounds of scrap metal.
