I have an unusual question. I drive a rat rod truck every day , actually I have two at present , a 56 Ford and a 55 Studebaker. This summer I plan to haul my rat rod bike when I go to cruise-ins. I'm trying to think of a fitting way to secure the bike , standing upright , of course. What would be a good way ? Leather belts? rusty chain , with springs for tension, maybe ? I don't want to use ratchet straps or rope. Any suggestions? Thanks :?: :?: :?:

Perhaps something like this surfboard rack(without the platform of course) ?

i asume you dont want to use regular tie downs because you think they look too modern? i take my bikes to car shows all the time in my 62 ranchero and i use the modern straps. sorry my bikes are way to important to me to chance it on having "old" looking straps when you roll in. maybe if you drove slow but i like to fly even if the bikes are in the back. and remember as long as it is not billet it is allllll good :D
