Re: Time to stop POWER PARKING

Even with space at a premium, there has to be a better way. On the average( spring, summer), how many bikes are at the rack? It would be nice to get rid of that wheel breaker rack and get a rack that allows proper locking of the frame and wheel with a ULock.

Re: Time to stop POWER PARKING

It's possible that springer may be saved. It looks like it bent right where the bolt goes through. It may be able to be straighted by gently bending it back in a vice using wood blocks. The tubes are hollow, so there's a chance it will crush with too much force. My springer had both forks bent way forward before I got it from riding with no truss rods. The front just kept getting lower as it slowly bent. I straightened them, but it took a lot of patience and time. They aren't perfect, but are fairly close to original. I made truss rods from copper tubing.

Thanks guys for all the comments.

As you can see in above photos the bike rack is usually loaded with bikes
10 to 20 crew bikes at any giving time. Plus customers bikes.
If they were turned 90 degrees they would be in the traffic lane.

It's sure not the best bike rack but I like how visable it is from the store.

Re: Time to stop POWER PARKING

the amount of fixed gear bikes there is amazing!

Yeah, I work with lots of 20 something's and they all ride fixed gear.
Chicago is a perfect place for a fixie. Flat as a pool table.
If I were 20 years younger.
