Tire/rim sizes

I have two rear wheels,one from a western flyer,fairway flyer the other I'm not sure.They both say Bendix Mexico and appear to be the same.The wf had 1 3/8 tires and I was wondering if any tires listed as 1 3/8 would fit.Also is there any wider tire,say 1 3/4 that would fit these rims?
Would it be easier to use a more modern wheelset?I'm looking for a ratty look,not stock.

Most any 26x1 3/8 tire will fit with the EXCEPTION of those marked "Fits S-6" (Schwinn sized). Those are a lightweight wheel and you are stuck with the skinny tires.
