i have to remind myself when im wrenchin on the bikes .. there not a car
im so used to tightening everything down so well .. i tightend to much when i was working on the 49 scwhinn .. striped the axel . befor i did that i tightend the bolt down andthe fender post eyelet broke off .. gahhhhh ...
someone must of worked on the bike before b/c theres standard and metric bolt heads on it and its so frustrating so i cant ride that bike this weekend .
so my green lowrider i have with the white banana seat .. well i put extra foam on it and covered it in leopard bc its the only fabric i have right now .. atleast i know that fits in the back seat of the nova .

theres my venting .. im putting all standard boltheads back on it . and need to figure out the fender post .. :x

Sounds like you need to get some low quality Taiwan wrenches so they'll strip before the bolts do.

lets see those muscles!

Hey Jen, theres a guy on E-pay that sells a Schwinn hardware set for around $10.00 and it is the best! Seller ships quickly, the harware is dead on, and he even sends a list explaining what go's where! Looks great, installs perfectly, and is reasonably priced, whats not to like?

STOP at 1 ft/pound less than it takes to strip and/or break it off.

Hope this helps

Hehehe..........

My dad was a pro football player in the '50s, back when everyone worked on their own car.

He had his car up on the jack and was changing the tire. He wrenched the lug nuts too hard and the jack imploded, shot straight out and hit him in the face.

Luckily for him, he had broken his nose seven times before on the football field. It was mush. The doctors said if he hadn't had broken his nose so many times before it would have killed him by pushing the cartilage into his brain. They fixed his nose and he drove the car to his next football game.

Too much torque isn't always a bad thing...............
