Stumbled upon these today and caught the owner at the right time I guess. Today's price was FREE if I could just get them out of there. He threw in the trike w/ the Schwinn! I can't exactly tell what the original colors were yet. The many layers of old paint and rust make it difficult. The pictures dont make it any easier either. I need to buy a real camera and quit using my iPhone!!

1949 Schwinn ??? It looks like a B-6 missing it's tank.

All the pics I've seen of B-6's have painted stripes on the chain guard where the two colors meet. This one seems to have a layer of old chrome under that paint.

Here's the V-RROOM Trike. I haven't test it out yet to see if the motor still works. And since my kids are too big for it, it'll probably wind up as "art" in my sun room/porch.

That's a B6 for sure. You got a ton of good parts for free, or a good start on a restoration. Not sure about the chrome on the guard. Are you sure it's not just bare metal? Gary

Took some more pics of the ’49. Here’s what I see:

The chain guard is all chrome. It was painted white on the rear half w/ white pinstriping going into the front half. On top of the white pinstriping was what appears to be metallic maroon pinstriping. The red paint flaking off the front of the chain guard didn’t have the metallic maroon under it. So….a white rear & a chrome front separated by white & maroon stripes?

The metallic maroon was found in other places on the bike as well (kickstand mount) so I feel this is the original color.

There also appears to be black pinstriping on various tubes.

The stripes on the front fenders are consistent leading me to believe they are factory as well.

I don’t know how the tanks were mounted on these. My 62 Fleet has two screws holding the tank halves together so it hangs on the frame. Would this have been the same or did it screw directly to the frame? Has anyone seen what this could’ve looked like new?

I'm having a hard time deciding what to do w/ it. I'm happy as can be to get a springer but dont know if I should try to restore it or rat it..... :?: :?:

Had a sudden design and name for the '49 come to me over the weekend at an unexpected time but I think it'll look sharp when done!!!
