I just got home with these two ladies, found them on CL. The guy tells me they are both 40s. One is a Western Flyer, skiptooth appears to be all original, has basket too.Rims look like they will clean up ok. The 2nd is a Monark or Hawthorn he didnt know for sure, there is no head badge. It is not all original . The frame has been powdercoated as well as the fenders. The wheels are newer, tires are ok.What I love about it is the springer fork. It has been rechromed and is great shape. I dont know if it is original.I will have better pics later. I plan on doing very little to the dark one but will spend a bit of time on the WF. I plan on flipping these at the local bike swap meet in April.

Wow...that black bike looks really nice.

I bet it would clean up easily.

Nice finds. The black bike is great. I wish somebody had done that nice of job on my recent B6 find.

Looks like the black one should have been a skiptooth too. I can see the look in your eye now thinking about what you can use that knee action springer on. Them little wheels are probably spinning a mile a minute.   Excelent find!!!!

Our dog can't even come into our Living room...How did you swing getting those bikes in there. Are you Married ? My wife would kill me.. Thats why I stay in my Garage

sweet bikes!!! i agree that black one looks like it shoulda been a skip tooth. its chainring looks like either cleveland welding co., or hawthorne (same difference that vintage). id guess at either a hawthorne or roadmaster, seeing how cwc made both.

That's a steal for $120! Those are both Cleveland Welding bikes, the black one has a mid 50s sprocket, probably a replacement. But it has the cool CWC springer! Sweet! 8) ~Adam

Anybody out there an expert on the Shockmaster front end suspension? If you are I'm curious about something - I have multiple springers on CWC bikes that employ this design. All of them are the same from the fork arm supporting the spring on up. But below that point I have three different struts. One is the familiar Roadmaster Luxury Liner where the struts stick out the sides and taper down to the axle. I have a girl's Luxury Liner where the struts are shaped the same as the previous but they face forward instead of sticking out the sides. The third version I have the struts simply go straight down to the axle. So what's up?

you are lucky to have the three variations, I have the straight and the one out to the side. I believe it was just differant years/ styles? I like the straight myself, :) rms37 Phil will know more
