...here's my old Tornado woody, wood is press fit, no mounting system...
what do you think?

Loos nice. I'd add a rear rack but that's me. How does the extra weight affect the ride?

...first I made cardboard patterns that fit snug, then cut out the wood pieces (3/4 inch pine boards) and filed/ground em to fit, then clear varnished. They tap in with a rubber mallet.

Very cool. I was thinking about something along these lines with some luan plywood when I build my salt flats sidecar.
