What is the thread size on a standard 1"fork? I need to purchase a die to extend the threads on one.

Thanks
Fred

Normal ones are 24tpi. Exceptions include a lot of French things, Raleighs, anything very old and foreign, i'd double-check before i put a die on it--i think some German/Austrian oldies rocked the 1mm threads on 1", like the French guys....(25.4tpi). But 98% of 1" threaded forks are 24tpi. Have at it.

I got my 1"-24 die off of ebay. Someone posted up a link in the summer build. Takes awhile to get here from china. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/311708085874 less than $10.. Was worth its weight in gold when i had to cut in a new fork for my bomber after bending one....

I think that's the same one TRM and I both used, works great. Even if you have to wedge your forks in a tree to cut threads.
