Yes sir Clyde is a great guy, He has the fork finished but I ordered so ties and will not be in Tuesday so I will make it in one trip. did some touch up on the paint and took a bike apart for parts. will use these bars and got the crank set in.

Give em a temporary home for a while. I have been saving them for the mercury pacemaker.

Got the fork back and stripped and did a repaint and put it back together . also prepped the chain guard and got some paint on it. still need to find some grips I like. and going to look at some material to maybe do a different seat. Wheels will have to go on later till after Clyde James bike show don't want to take em off yet,

you could always cheat with a good thin tape for the pint stripes, even professionals do it in some situations

I will have to try that, I have some flame vinyl pin striping I cant try, cant hurt!!

Have not had to much time to get to the build.. So I pulled the wheels off the Schwinn and got the Gerald slick on but the axel on the front is to big to fit the monarch fork so got to find another wheel. put the S-7 on just to see black wall verses white, I'm more fore the white!

I usually just file a flat spot on two sides of the axel to get it to fit smaller drop outs. It usually doesn't take much. Looks good!

Have you tried swapping the axles between the two different front wheels? If that doesn't work it's pretty quick And easy enlarging a dropout with a file, I got a rat tail in a file set at Harbor Freight that was the perfect size for making old dropouts accept modern axles. I think the whole set set me back a whopping $7.

Bike is looking good, the axles as stated before are an easy fix.

This is a viable solution, but if you make a mistake or change your mind later its much easier to deal with replacing axels instead of the rockers on that vintage fork. Just something to consider.

Going to try to swap axles if I don't have another wheel. wheel set was off a HD industrial bike

Not much done on the build in a while, But I did find a wheel in my pile of parts. Gave it a OA bath and it come out better than I thought.
