I found the CL ad for this bike about 2 months ago. It was in a town a mere 250 miles from my house. The ad subject read "Bud Light Retro Bike". Since I own a Schwinn Rolling Rock and my dad's got an Electra New Belgium cruiser, I was intrigued by the thought of adding another "beer bike" to our collection. The ad showed no pics so I requested some. What I got were the blurriest cell phone pics you could imagine. I asked some questions and found out that the seller won this "Trex" bike, brought it home and stuck it in the basement. He said he had never even ridden it.
Now, I was not in the market for a Trek cruiser, nor was in interested in driving 500 miles round trip for one. However...my folks just happen to have friends in the town where the bike was located. They agreed to pick the bike up for me if I decided to buy it. Now that I knew someone could get it for me I haggled with the seller and got him down to a really good price. I wrote a check and mailed it off to my folks' friends and they picked the bike up a couple days later. That was 6 weeks ago. Over this last weekend my folks went to visit and brought the bike back for me.
Well, the seller wasn't lying. This bike is in absolutely mint condition. It's an awesome metallic midnight blue, which doesn't show well in the picture. As far as being a "Bud Light" bike, it's just a decal stuck on a standard factory paint job.
Anyway, here's my $100 Trek.
