AKA Goatheads or Puncture Vine.

I rode over to the LBS to get a shifter part and new chain. On the way home, I took a short cut across a dirt lot that is okay in the spring time. Well the Goatheads are ripe and ready to inflict damage. The Schwalbe Big Apples w/Kevlar usually do okay on the occasional goathead, but they didn' t like being assaulted by an army all at once. Estimated 50+ per tire. I was able to ride the 2 miles back to work but the rear tube is now flat (no slime) and the front is okay.

Gotta get some new tubes now. :x :x :x

Just little nubbins now. They all broke off when I rubbed the tire with my shoe and from the ride.

A humorous blog post about them.... http://bikenazi.blogspot.com/2007/03/mans-ruin.html

Just pic for those who don't know about these little buggers.

Ok Skip its nothing nasty. It is the seed of clover and it looks like a little seed surrounded with little hooks that grab on to anything. Usually your dogs hair. About the size of a skittle.

This idea would solve the problem though
