Trying to get the hex nut off a crank. Pedals were a challenge, but got them off. This nut is really tite with some rust as well. Any suggestions? Counter clockwise, rite? Have been spraying PB blaster on it in hopes of breaking it loose.

NO! Clockwise to loosen the hex nut on a 1pc crank! Remember, they always spin toward the front of the bike to tighten, and the back of the bike to loosen!
Crap! I guess that solves my problem. Probably would have come right off. I'll try again tomorrow, after I get done kickin myself in the butt for screwin up like that. Didn't even think about it. She's tight now though!

And when you get to the sprocket it's exactly the opposite.
