20 bucks and an hours worth of driving brought home this clean queen machine. Spoke with Jim about getting his kit with lights. Pretty excited to hack this one up. Love the cheap stuff. I’m thinking retro, faux-tina Gulf paint scheme. I may even be able use the factory paint as foundation for scheme. Bonus. God I hate driving to sand blaster……. Can’t fit it in my blast cabinet. And stripper…..ugh.

If you don't mind me asking, who do you use and what do they normally charge for a frame? A media cabinet is on my short list, but that's going to be later this year. I've looked into a few places in my neighborhood, but they seem rather expensive. Thanks!

I use a guy up in Berthoud. He generally charges me about 50 for frame and fork. Do not go to the guys in Longmont.....They hosed me 300 to sand blast my prewar Schwinn a couple years ago.

Thank you! Yeah, $50 is super reasonable compared to what I've been quoted. I can get to Berthoud in about ten minutes. The least horrible thing about going to Berthoud is City Star Brewing.
I’m in the Erie, Lafayette area. By Boulder creek crossing at 287. A little further for me, but still worth it. They also do great powder coating.

Beautiful frame and tank!
Just fantasizing: if the stem/handlebar clamp was beneath the tank, that would look awesome. The tanks front look like eyes, if that clamp had teeth.... sorry, got lost there for a moment.

Can't wait for more!

I got a few hours in on her today. Routed brake cable and set up rear brake. Made a rear signal light out of left over plumbing artifacts. Made spacer for rear brake stay. Pushed it around the lot. Not really digging the front fork. It needs a little sumtin. The Bmx forks I have do not have long enough steer tube.

So, I found a donor fork, then sleeved and welded new tube that gave me the length to run the old Bmx fork. I am going to make a set of trusses for it. Added the campagnolo crank andmbottom bracket. I will be removing gear cluster tomorrow and putting free wheel on the Arayas.

I think TRM's tank is the coolest custom part you could possibly order for a build. Not only is very cool for what it is, but it looks great combined with the double or triple downtubes on ladies' bikes.
And your bike looks great with it. Really cool vibe overall.

I was mowing the property today. Ran across an old shovel blade in storage. So I’m riding around, listening to Pandora and it hits me. That shovel needs to be a seat. Hahaha. subliminally, I feel like I have seen something similar. So I took the shovel and rounded it out on the anvil. I should have threw it in the coal forge to anneal it a bit. Maybe later. Anyways, not to bad. Threw some foam on her and took her around the hood. Rode about 4 miles to make sure everything was cool, including myself. Neighbors approved. 😀 I also clearances out the original chain guard to clear the Campy 3 piece. Love this thing. Now I need to work out paint scheme.

I pick the stuff up when I find it reasonably priced
I don't have any Campagnolo in this score, however if you are looking for bikes/parts in the near future hit me up. This is about half of it and I'm only grabbing usable bikes/parts at the pick up location.
