Tubular Forks

Good morning all,
I'm looking for a set of 26" used tubular forks that will fit my 26" 66 Typhoon, no chrome. I'm going to have them powder coated.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Something like the one's pictured.

I do not, I can measure what I have now, this weekend. I do know the head tube is 5-1/2" not including the cups.

I found that it was cheaper and easier to buy a new chrome sunlite fork and have it blasted prior to powder coat. Might consider that as an option

Looks like the caliper says 171mm which in turn is more likely 6-3/4". looks like 24mm threaded length, which I'm guessing is close to 1". Please accept my apologies, but I'm trying.

I’ve been buying the sunlite forks. They are about $50. And they should fit fine in the typhoon. You can recycle the headset. I do have to cut them to length. I thread on some used headset bolts and use that as a guide for the hacksaw. After the cut, I unthread the bolt which cleans up the threads on the cut. I can take a picture if that helps.

I bought a Sunlight fork for mine, painted instead of chrome in case I wanted to paint it later.

Yes it had to be cut to length.

I thread on some used headset bolts and use that as a guide for the hacksaw. After the cut, I unthread the bolt which cleans up the threads on the cut. I can take a picture if that helps.

Lately I’ve searched through facebook market place for older mountain bikes for parts. The stout cromo fork on my Freeliner build came off a 90 Giant mtb i bought for $20. Just make sure the steerer tube is long enough for your bike and that it is 1” OD. I had to shorten it a little.

Below are some pictures of how I do this. I guess this only works if you have some old 1in threaded headsets laying around. I use a total of 4 so I can lock 2 of them together on each side of the cut line. After the cut, you will have 2 headset pieces to remove which will help clean up the cut.

My question is whether it is OK to use a stack of spacers to avoid cutting the forks? In my case I would need 60mm of spacers.
