Didn't get the forks done like I had hoped, but progress was made. I thought it might be worth while to build a jig... I have a feeling I'll be building more forks in the future.

How thick are you making your forks?
Those are similar in scale/design to the ones that I am planning.

Can't wait to see this working. I know I've seen a back to back tandem before, I just can't imagine the sensation of riding backwards like that, I'm guessing the pilot does the lion's share of the balancing.

Sorry, I meant how wide is each leg if you were looking at them head on.

The legs are 3/4 in back and 1/2 in front. And 5 1/4 apart

Local salvage yard has a similar (but far from exact) tandem setup, their's was converted to belt drive to help the driveline twist to accomodate.

Belt would be a good idea. I got the forks, cranks, and seats where I want them tonight. It's just a game of connect the dots the next couple days.



Spent a lot of time tonight looking at tape measures, plumb bobs, levels, squares, and straight edges. Glad the hard part is finished!
