Just finished up recovering these ugly rubber grips. I made an iron cross stamp. Then drew a grid on my 6oz veg tan. I stamped the leather using my drill press. Then colored the leather, laced it on and finished it with a sealer. Now on to the matching leather tool roll. Who knows when that will get done!?

Thanks everyone. These are on my Slick Daddy, which has an iron cross theme. The stamp was made on an wire EDM from some 3/16 stainless scrap plate. I learned the process to work leather by reading and studying posts in some leather working forums. Also trial and error. Here's the stamp.

I collect WW1 German Iron Crosses. One of the most famous medals for bravery in the world. And they look great on bikes too. You did a nice job on getting the shape right.

I'd love to get my hands on an EDM machine. Lots of potential for making neat stuff. A company near here called Hansvedt (spelling?) in Champaign-Urbana makes them. I knew a guy who worked there.
