unique 1980s Taiwan Beach Cruiser: "Beach Monster" by Galaxy

Picked this one up of CL tonight. The model is "Beach Monster" by Galaxy (headbadge) made in Taiwan. The tank plate is original to the bike.

Yeah, I thought it was just a Malibu hopper family bike that someone had painted turquoise and put a piece of cardboard as a tank plate. When I actually picked it up, I was surprised to see the tank plate was a welded piece of steel and the white signs were stickers matching the chainguard. Not bad for an Andrew Jackson.

Nope, it is within regular geometry for a beach cruiser. The frame looks off because the curved steel top bars have that kink in them for whatever reason made sense at the factory 30 years ago.

Thus far, I replaced the sad mt. bike tires for shiny new white walls, and removed the fugly rear rack and removed the decaying foam handlebar material. I will probably get a rear fender for it, otherwise it rides smoothly.
