Univega mixte for a cool $20

I bought this bike off of craigslist the other day.

I'm going to do a build that I will call "The Mixte Pixie"
If you can envision the adult version of this bike.

Then you know exactly what I am going for. This will be for my height impaired 5ft. wife!
I'm going to try and get a Pixie chain guard to work on it too!

Great concept! If you go 'balooner' width may be a challenge.

Cool idea to cut the seatstay and go from there. Seems like there was even a Mixte mini build off back in the archives here somewhere.

Not a "New" idea but this is similar to what I want.

From the research that I have done. 20" wheels can use fairly wide tires, but have pedal scrape. 24" can't go very wide but have enough pedal clearance. Where can I get those fancy 22' BMX......cheap??

If i was gonna mod a mixte frame, i'd go in more of a Breezer Series I direction...

Kelvin Hahnel dropped me off a Repco Mixte the other day, I was thinking along the same lines, but there is not much room for balloon tire clearance...
