Unknown Frame

I posted this over in the "BIKE I.D." area but with 45+ views and not 1 guess, even, I am posting here to.
If you have any thoughts let me know please.

So many of these old frames look alike! Can anyone help me I.D. this frame manufacturer and year or range? I am thinking mid-30's Schwinn, although the guy I got it from is leaning toward Henderson or Elgin... or is it something else?

**Notice:
- where the downtube meets the horizontal bar.
- rear dropouts seem to have stops for a drop kickstand.
- serial number on BB, 6673 and a smaller upside down 7 above it.
- brazed truss's on fork

All the old Motobike frames look so much the same. You should post measurements and orientation of the headbadge holes.

its not a schwinn rear drop outs not schwinn. elgin maybe but truss rods mount different on top . so i think hawthorne

A: Headtube height: 5"
B: Horizontal bar length: 22"
C: Seat tube length: 18.5"
D: Seatstay length: 18"
E: Chainstay length: 16"
F: Downtube length: 22"

I thought so too, but despite the shape of the iver johnson badge the left and right hole placements is reversed. take a look at one... http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File: ... _badge.jpg

You're right. I was trying to remember what mine looked like but it's been a while.

I think you can rule out elgin. Looks to be for 26 inch wheels right?

I actually measured the inside angles, so I believe 28" would fit, and were original to the frame.

The headbadge is going to be the best clue. Up until about 1935, everyone was producing this style frame and everything up until 1933 came standard with 28" wheels. The headbadge should at least be able to help narrow down the brand and hopefully the manufacturer after that.

Thanks. I've been researching headbadges since I found the holes... they're in such odd proximity it should be obvious huh..
