Is he Sure that's not a monark built frame?
It has the original Columbia head badge on it. That's all I can tell you.

Looks like I'll have at least 2 entries for the ORBO after all. I'm going to fix up this freebie 18-speed Huffy for my mom so we can both have a more capable bike to ride on the gravel trails. It's a little rough, but I figure this bike just needs a tune-up and a seat to be usable again.

I've contemplated doing a skinny wheel buildoff. 1.5s can easily replace the 1.75s on it.

Of course, this depending on if I get the klunker built in time we'll see if I can fit in this 57 CWC built Shelby middleweight. Cwc machinery operated in Littlerock after AMF moved the tooling out of Ohio a couple years earlier.

I have begun buying parts. My entry will be a red Schwinn Racer. My plan is to build a 26in wheelset with a 2 speed bendix kickback. BMX bars. Klunker/BMX inspired build.
I had a 71 Racer. 2.125 tires were too wide, but 2.0 fit.

Funny you mention that. I was just test fitting a pair of 2.1 tires I have been saving for this. They rub. Would it be possible to dimple both the chain stays and seat stays? Maybe I can get someone here to build me a dimpling tool.

I think the chain stays are already dimpled. Have you considered other tires? There are a lot of choices in this size. I used a few 26 x 1.9 knobbies in the past. BMX style could include 26 x 1.75.
