I see the bike as kind of a retro-modern hot rod bobber, which to me screams for red and black! I was originally going to do it in black with natural wood but I'm saving that for the next build which will have big'n little motorcycle tires, likely 6000 watts at 72 volt

That's nuthin'! One of the guys on endless-sphere.com build one with 3 RC helicopter motors, 40,000 watts total. I posted some pics elsewhere on this site.

I forget, is this one 48v?

Also curious, what voltage and amperage would be necessary for a cruising speed around 35mph?

This one is 48 volt 30amp/hr pack, top speed should be about 54km/hr. You would need 60 volt in a 26" wheel to go any faster.

The bike is finally finished and getting some much deserved riding time. There are a couple of details to complete (like painting out the turbo fan on the chain side of the motor) but this is about as complete as it's going to be. I've already started collecting pieces for the next one...
