So i am still at college and away from my frame so i can't post pictures of it yet, just wanting to get my thread started.

Re: Vagabond Gent

no pics yet, but I found a wheel set and some fence brackets to make some monarch style front dropouts. The only thing is the coaster break makes a clicking noise when the middle part of the hub rubs on the shoes while coasting. Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

Re: Vagabond Gent

Most current coaster hubs will have some "buzz", which gradually subsides through use, due to a return spring (Not to be confused with a rotation control clip) which is intended to maintain positive positioning of the driven side of the bendix. I just rotate my crank a little fore or aft and it goes away, and it does fade over time as the parts wear in. Many older hubs do not have this feature. You might be able to run without it, but is suspect the drive "clutch" surfaces meet differently, and it might stick or slip more easily that way.

Re: Vagabond Gent

thanks, that does make sense. Guess I will just have to use it and break it in. The wheels were off of an abandoned huffy cranbrook, so i guess it was ridden almost none at all.

Re: Vagabond Gent

Well no pics still, but I am home and have sprayed some stripper on my frame. It is a Coast King Malabu or something like that. Will have pictures when my brother gets home with his camera/iPhone

Re: Vagabond Gent

Glitter clogged the wood chipper....

Should have picks up by tonight. frame, forks, and chainring are in primer. Need to shorten the fork tubes to fit the neck of the frame, so i have to buy a brazing kit. Need to cut out some brackets still, needless to say my dremmel is getting a workout.

Sorry about the delay on pics, i promise that I don't have mad skillz though.

Re: Vagabond Gent

Ok, here are some pics

Forks, both are primed and in need of shortening the tube.

Re: Vagabond Gent

well can't use that sprocket unless i get a skiptooth chain, a regular one won't line up right. Also got the basic colors painted. Black Rustoleum hammered for the frome and an aged brass color for the accent parts. the lack of pictures is do to what i will call an over abundence in my brother's duchebaggery.

Re: Vagabond Gent

Have a working bike now, but a lack of progress pics is making my thread really suck. i'm thinking about redoing a couple brackets that I made. Also have to get some wood work done.
