I want to rid myself of a cheap mexican made bendix hub that I've hated for years. Anyone have any experience with the velosteel hubs being used on a standard 26 inch fat tire bike frame? These hubs get a good write up in the fixie web sites. I plan to lace tthe hub to modern alloy rims and mount nice fat tires like thick bricks.

But out to sea at the moment.

I don´t have any experience with these hubs, but I´ve heard about, they are made with old Fichtel & Sachs-machines, which have been sold a few years ago to Cechie (hope, it´s the right word for the Ex-CSSR). Maybe, they´re out of tolerance. I prefer the genuine Fichtel & Sachs-singlespeed-hubs. I´ve one pre-war-model, running for over 30.000km without any work.

regards, Paul
