I just picked up what I think is a '96 Trek 930 off of CL near the AL/TN border. This thing was out in the sticks. Guy had said he was in Chattanooga. It was a good 40 miles past that. My GPS got me totally lost and the guy ended up bringing it to me on some gravel road. He said the only people who come out to the area where we met are people "picking berries and dropping bodies." It ended up being an all day trip from Knoxville, but OX Platinum tubing for $60 is hard to beat.
It's a little dusty as it's been in storage due to the original owner having been traveling around the world over the better part of the last decade. Other than the tires and seat, it looks to be all original. There's not a scratch on it. The paint is MINT.
I've been wanting a vintage, rigid steel mountain bike since moving here from Phoenix. I had all single-speed cruisers in the stable prior to this. With all the hills here and me getting older and fatter, I decided I needed some gears. I was hoping for something 80s and lugged, but this will probably due.
I would consider trading it and I'm always open minded.
