It has been brought to my attention that the last reply that I posted here came across as a dig aimed at Remix. The only point that I tried to make was that we are all better off leaving the semantics concerning the words "Rat Rod" alone.
Just to be clear, I happen to think that Remix is a wonderfully creative bike deserving the 1st place position that it garnered regardless of what term is used to categorize it.

Personally, I think that the only ________ that can be called a ___________ is "_________." Any other ________ is not really a _________.

Insert any noun into that first blank and you've got fuel for a flame war. Bike, dog, car, wife, wine, whiskey... Some form of that sentence has been used to troll for flames in every internet forum since the beginning of internet forums.

And then the instigator *always* says.... "No offense."

yes, thanks for the votes!!!! This build off event is a great thing for all involved!!! it gives the G.G.G. (geek guys in garages) a place to see others of our kind from the world over!!!!!!! am already working towards next year and may have found a frame!!

Way too much discussion about what the definition of "rat rod" is! This is my 3rd build off. Each year I built what I want/like, not what I think everyone else is looking for in order to place well in the competition. My prize is my bike, built by me. I think the top placing bikes in BOTH classes deserve their recognition! Fantastic skills going on in all these builds. If we all liked the same styles, this would be a pretty boring site! Congrats to all builders in both classes & let's do it again next year. Save the drama for your momma, let's build some cool bikes!
