A great source for a one piece crank with shorter arms would be a kids 12, 16, or 20" bike.

Thank you! I have been using these little kids bikes as my source for 32 tooth sprockets, brake pads stems, bearings and chains so far...
A free to $5 bike can yield a lot of nice parts.

I had a chance to put in a few hours today and went through a couple diffrent looks. Il decide before paint im sure, with that said i trimmed the fenders to fit. I hope they fare well with the ride. Speaking of which i was able to putt up and down the street, surprisingly it went pretty fast without a tuned carb.
Yesterday i reshaped the angle of the exhaust pipe and designed a rubber shock mount for the engine. Have i mentioned the engine had both foreward bolts broken inside and drill bits broken inside as well "(
A simple fix... Drill through the sides ")
Im still searchimg for the smaller crank from a childs bike.... Hopefully soon ")

Hi guys, its time to make my war journal entry........
I stumbled across a pocket bike last week and stole its chrome. Ive decided this will house its keyed ignition.
Cut down a scrap piece from the front fender project and adapted it to serve as an engine "hood". I am in process of MacGyvering a retention bracket, headed in the direction of mounting the cdi under the "Hood" with the support of the bracket. It still needs more work but i think it is one of a kind.
I trimmed the front seat clamp off and angled the nose of the springer seat which allowed for an aerodynamic posture and I even wrapped the grips with black cork.

Not to sure you are gonna want rod brakes on a motorized bike though.
If a brake pad turns out of alignment, it's gonna could get in the spokes and then you can check it out as you fly over the handlebars.

I was traveling to georgia and saw this at their airport is all. I might go euro next build. Bur for now i am progressing in the jackshaft parts build. I plan on using only parts i have and just finished up this six speed 20" cassette
All of the parts on this bike have been manufactured or allocated. Nothing is store bought.
the camera takes too big of pictures so i screenshotted them. The hub came from a 26" six speed and the rim is from a 20" mongoose. I have also beaten out the crank shaft for the pedals to have clearance allowing me to still contend on Ver-BOTEN
i will post better pics later as i finish up the days work.... To Valhalla i run.

Got to put in a couple hours today. Hooked up the deraluer and shifter and was suprised how smooth the transition was. I also taped off the handle bar with an old padded grip topped off with the rest of the cork wrap i had.
Also came across a 24v motor i plan to convert into a power supply unit for headlights...

I woke up last night from a dead sleep after hours of research on how to build a DC to DC trickle charging system, to realize i have an unused harbor freight solar distribution hub at my disposal. Without loosing a minute i had seperated the aluminium casing, exposing the board i began looking for a suitable housing and found a spare drill index.
It will have to come out more to the right in order to fit the jackshaft gears.
I need to find a suitable battery and some head lamps. Speaking of lamps i am running two 12v, a 9v and a 5v usb for power sources.

I remember at the onset you mentioned you got your inspiration for the build from a Mad Max movie. It appears your dreams have become a reality! Also, paint was mentioned a couple of posts back....I'd leave her as is. I was walking around the yard and came across some scrap. I liked the shape so i took it and decided to manufacture a jackshaft. As of now it is missing an axle and a few sprockets. I might have to purchase those items.
I also had a chance to finish up the powerplant, i allocated some old rollaway tool box matting as an insulator for the metal on metal contact.
And added an old dog collar as a tie down strap

I put this together while waiting for a client to land from Colorado.... I still need to chop it down to size, drill a few holes and place some set screws. I think the generator is going to be belt driven ")
