its a pretty neat frame with a nice locking fork , no key , really neat long handle bars,really cool fender braces, awesome grips, felt wheels and bontrager tires came with some old parts,orig wheels ,need help identifying? ND hubs, and chain ring, i also posted a pic of the serial # any guess on year?

Your Frame, and the locking fork and trussrods come from a 1937 Hawthorne Zep which was their top-of-the-line steel bike at that time. Most people refer to this style frame (made by H. P. Snyder) as a “Zep” but the frame was produced in large numbers from 1936 through 1940 and probably less than one in a thousand of these frames is a true Zep. The name was exclusive to this deluxe Hawthorne and the determining factor is the built in fork lock. I believe there are only a small handful of these frame/forks that have survived and are known to the hobby today. People generally replicate the original on a lesser frame without the built in lock.
