I soaked my new-used chain overnight and found that a couple links are broken on one side and a couple others are starting to crack. Do I throw it out or try to salvage it?

Thanks!

If you have a chain breaking tool that works well with skip tooths, I'd try and salvage it. You can modify a regular chain breaking tool for skip tooth pretty easy. Skip tooth chains are way overpriced for some reason. They never seemed to be that scarce to me when I was hunting old bikes. I'll bet I've tossed a dozen of them over the years before I knew they were valuable. :( Gary
