Anybody ever dip brake levers or shift levers in the plastic coating material that is made for coating tool handles? I've seen it at Lowes and Home Depot . I have some levers and handles that will not clean up like new , so I plan to try the coating. Maybe I'll make a trip to get it and some wood bleach for the derusting some chrome this Saturday.

I haven't done this, but it sounds like a cool idea.

If you try it..document it with photos and post it in the HOW TO section.

I have used that on the undersides of fenders and the back sides of chainguards.

No, I used the spray on kind.

I used it to coat a piece of round steel stock I had bent for a trailer hitch. This piece wraps around the chainstay so coating it was a must. I also used the spray type, after 4 years and lots of use it is holding up well.

I used the dip paint to coat the shock springs on my old Vespa scooter. It was easy to use as long as you build it up in lots of thin coats and is very durable. I've ridden for years and the paint is still good.
