My son really wants a Felt MP. It's his top choice of any bike he's seen and we plan on getting him one for Xmas. Found one on CL about 3 hours away so I thought it would be a good plan to get it and save some dough. The guyseller was a real sport and we agreed on a decent price and for me to come up today to look it over and pick it up, even though he had lots of interest. He said the bike had some nicks and dings and showed them in his pics. What the pictures didn't show was the "wear" on the paint. Like numerous scuffs, scratches, and more dings than I saw in the pics. Bottom line is that for a Xmas present I want there to be a "wow" factor. And an obviously used and worn bike may make him feel like he isn't worth a new one. So, I passed.

On a good note, I now know that Felt's are small under me. I love the frame design and those really wide rims, but I'm about a foot too tall for them. :?

I suggest getting an Electra Straight 8 or Lakester because they are much more stretched out, which allows tall riders to still have a low center of gravity (they aren't nearly as stretched out as a true 'stretch' bike, like the Dyno Roadster). For even taller riders I would suggest the Electra Ghostrider or RatFink.

He did. I don't really blame him. He was forthright that the bike had cosmetic damage, and showed it in pictures as best he could. I mean, he didn't overemphasize it, but would you?
