Nice but it needs to have a clamp on the side so you can get your bike off the ground to work on it. Gary

really? I was figuring the weird shape was actually some kind of cool bike holder that I wasn't smart enough to figure out without lookin at the diagram.. surely thats the case...

and whats with all the tools and the hose still on there? in my town it would be stripped clean the first night... heck they were stealin the rails off the train track last week in broad daylight...

according to the link you slide your seat post between the two curved pipes at the top and this holds your bike.

its a great idea says they used it on a campus.. i think it is more suited to that type of setting than just around town.

great stuff though

i can already see people trying to pump up car tires to save 75 cents!
it is a great idea for areas of heavy bike traffic, but my first thought was fear of vandalism and theft. im not knockin it, im just saying that it probably would get destroyed. i hope im wrong!

I think your supposed to hang your bike on it by putting the bottom of your seat on top of the top left or right on the tube with the seat post hitting the side of the same tube if that makes sense?? hard to explain with out showing. they have some of these up in Whistler BC in the summer months for downhill'in pretty cool. I agree they should have them around in towns but prob wouldnt take to long for some meat head to cut the cables :?

That's awesome, I could see it working well in a very supervised area, there are some parks and waterfronts around here that employ retired men to cruise the areas in golf carts picking up trash, helping people out, etc... they keep their eyes on everything.

I live in a regular town of 30,000 pop. Its in I suppose what you would call a poorer part of the County and most certainly a 'struggling' part of the Country, But Im sure this would not get damaged or stolen, things do, but this woud'nt .... I love it! :D

Hey Cameron,
That's an interesting one.
I think these stands are great!

We have a Fixation Station (only one so far) in Mpls
It's in the Uptown area inside the city bus transfer building

I hope they catch on because it was handy to adjust my seat that day
Tubes, gatorade and power bars in the vending machine plus free compressed air

That's the Greenway in the background, (a rails to trails project)

They are finally starting to install cycle commuter showers
and lockers in some of the parking ramps in Downtown Mpls

I have to brag a bit about Mpls being the most bike friendly in the country
(despite the long winter months  )

The civic leaders are finding out and acting upon the premise that
there is money to be made by improving the quality of bicycling life :D

Thanks for posting the topic

Is this really necessary? This is a family friendly forum, no need for such hateful language.
