Today is marathon day in Berlin. 42 km of streets, cleared from cars. Around 150 cyclists took the chance and rode the race track starting at 6 in the morning to not disturb the event. It was a fun early morning ride!
I took the S-Bahn at 5:13 to get to the starting point

It was a fun ride, especially passing all the helpers and wishing them good morning and getting cheered...✊
It was really worth the early get up...👍
With the way back I made a total of 58,8 km today and am back in time to have a late breakfast with the family👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 after a good shower of course 🚿😉

Agreed! One of 😍 isn't enough.

So 😍🥰🤩🥳👍👍🤣😂😂😂:rockout::rockout::rockout::13::heart::heart::inlove: should cover it. Thanks for sharing!✌️
I couldn't bare to miss this event, so I convinced my little one (9 years) to come with me to visit...

So hear my tale I have to tell about the tournament that took place outside the walls of the city of Berlin. A story of brutal battle and great joy, of victory and defeat, as my squire and I harnessed our gasoline carriage and set out on the long journey to witness the tournament of the city's mightiest knights.
We reached the tournament place just in time to admire the strong warriors in the last fight of the discipline rope pulling.
IMG_20230924_135112248.jpg

After that we took a little walk to admire the warrior camps and the various battle horses and chariots:

In the meantime, the battlefield was prepared for the noble knights to compete in the art of jousting.
IMG_20230924_135858911.jpg

And then the cruel fighting began. Neither man nor horse was spared. Proud knights with lance in hand rode bravely into battle.

But also the little squires were allowed to prove their skills in the battle of plunger against dwarf. Drawn by experienced knights on proud horses, they were allowed to go on a dwarf hunt from the battle wagon.

Weapon in hand she fearlessly faces the ugly dwarf!
IMG_20230924_153600992.jpg

She made it stick! She will become a fine warrior very soon!
IMG_20230924_153604969.jpg

And he as well will make a fine knight when it's time for him.

The last fight of the tournament was also the toughest! Five against five it was shield wall against shield wall. It was a matter of bringing the opponent to the ground by any means or pushing him out of the battlefield. Here, brute force reigns...

When the actual tournament was already over, a brave knight dared to challenge the king to a chariot joust.
The king took up the gauntlet, put on his armor and mounted his chariot, drawn by two impetuous horses.

The last clash was so violent that both chariots tipped over and the combatants fell to the ground....

But no one was seriously harmed, so the final ceremony could take place, where the winning horde was honoured. It was the horde "Bolts and Cookies" all to the far right in the picture...

The reporting ostler and his squire enjoyed a wonderful afternoon and on the way home in the gasoline coach they vowed to attend this crazy tournament again next year.

With the young bloke gone fishing mad ive been putting a few k's on "Direction Unknown" regular trips to the boat ramp at the end of the main street, I usually drop him and a couple mates down there in the ute but ive been using the bike to go check on them every couple hrs, taking snacks n drink,, its a 2km round trip! on average they stay for about 7hrs,
Ive decided to add rod holders to "Direction Unknown" now I can fish when I check or we both can venture off and once the dreaded BMX ute is completed then it will be a two bike team of "Direction Unknown" and the "BMX Ute"
I made up a holder consisting of two bits of top tube off an unknown bike, welded them together and made up a crude clamp with a pre drilled hole and welded that to the back of the top tubes, this all fit snuggly in behind the plate holder and bolted through the old rear brake hole.
to my surprise I nailed it, got the angle, distance and look I was after....!
PXL_20231001_233021508.jpg

From the side they look almost inconspicuous, im contemplating running with the blue hammertone for the new holders!

PXL_20231001_232913433.jpg

in any case the bait casting rods look right at home in their new mode of transport!
so from here the "BMX Ute" will carry the esky with ice, bait, snacks n drinks and another couple rod holders as well, theres even room on the tray for fold up camping chairs, blue tooth speaker and and...well what ever else finds it way on!

PXL_20231001_232600173.jpg

sorry for the rods clashing with the background but once inside and on the computer it really is too hard to go back outside, take more pics and do it all again!

PXL_20231001_232707464.jpg

While there being a small amount of movement while in transition its required that I at least bind the assembly in some way to stop the wriggling and rattling that occurs, I have a couple small velcroe camping ties that will do the job nicely!
so I cant wait to get out and use this thing and all but...well... hes gone off with his mates today to the skate park! Grrrrrrr. murphys law isnt it LOL!
