Rode the Kos on Friday and the Speedliner today. Beautiful Summer morning so I got up early and headed to the bay. Have a great weekend.

Rode my Suburban (Skinny Tire bike) into the city today and then out to the bay. This was my only ride this week as I have had a bad neck and the start of Summer in the Southern part of Australia has been like the middle of winter. Strong swirling winds today with a thunderstorm on the way.

I rode my Elgin Moto bike in the Lights Parade last night with @Palepainter . We had 50+ folks riding with their bikes decorated for the occasion. It was a lot of fun with streets packed with spectators!! Gotta add space here so implanted ads don't cover pics in my post......

Great time. Really tough to ride in that crowd with sunglasses on. 😀. No wheelies and made it home safely. Thanks for the schnapps.

Thone are some sweet rides. Tell us more about the Kos.
Thanks.

Its a 2012 Kos Reissue in raw clear coated finish with a heap of upgrades. Double butted cro-mo frame and forks. Sturmey Archer 3 speed and thumb shifter, Profile cranks, S&M Motoman chainwheel, DMR V12 pedals, Brooks B67 and Genuine Bicycle products Big Crook bars.

I remember seeing an original Kos back in ‘83 on a podium in a bike store. Being 6’2, this was a bmx I could actually ride for more than 10 minutes. I thought it was the best thing since slice bread. My budget didn’t allow but I saved and bought a set of new Kos bars and fitted them to my 12 speed. I added a pair of Dia-compe mx levers which I still have but the bars which are worth a small fortune now are long gone.

I took my Elgin Moto bike to join some friends for the Old Bikes Club ride in Denver yesterday. Only 6 folks showed up for a chilly ride in the mid 30's. It has been another fun year of rides and am looking forward to next year!🤓

Merry Christmas!!🎅🎄

Hello gang! I have an EPIC travel and bike life memory to share. Yesterday I got to meet up with an old friend here on RRB and the custom bike world. For those of you that don't know, @OCDconnection found inspiration for a bike frame from a section of the London Underground subway map about 8 years ago.

He studied the map for days trying to find a section that he could make a bike out of. Here is the section he settled on.

Tomas and I have kept in touch for years and have always had a mutual admiration for each others work. Well, as part of my Christmas travel with Queenfish this year, we decided to spend Christmas week in London. Naturally, I reached out to Tomas and yesterday, I took the tube out to his place. I spent most of the day with him bombing around London, having a pint at the Bike Shed motorcycle bar, eating with his family, and hanging out talking bikes in his shop.

The topper of the whole day was that I actually got to ride his iconic London Underground build everywhere (even in the rain with slickers on). Once I pulled up his inspirational map pic, I was easily able to see that my hotel is just West of the bottom bracket :D . It's hard to put into words how freaking cool yesterday was for me! I just let a few pics from the ride tell the story. If you aren't familiar with his work, I STRONGLY suggest you look him up on Instagram or Facebook (Just search for ocdconnection).

Merry Christmas everyone!
