I had to visit a customer in Estes Park yesterday. With Labor Day upon us & Estes being a tourist town I wanted to head up early in case the route was a parking lot. Loaded the DJ bike in case I made it up early to check out a small pump track & skills area. I had about 45 minutes to get the heart & lungs pumping before I had to leave for my appointment.🤓View attachment 246933

The dirt track looked unused so will need some knobbies to check that out when I have more time.....
Man I miss going up there all the time

Today my Kirsch Special SwingBike got some road time. I joined another protest against the Berlin government. They intend to build a highway through the part of Berlin with some of the greatest music clubs this city has to offer. Not my kind of sound, but still an important part of our culture. The big protest was near Ostkreuz station and I rode with about 4000 other cyclists from the ministry of traffic to join the big protest rave at Markgrafendamm. In total we are talking of about 20'000 people protesting...

1947 Cleveland Welding Co. Hiawatha Chippewa
[the lesser seen Gambles version of the Western Flyer Super]
Some came in black, red and chrome, others in red, cream and chrome.
I've never seen a black variation before and only one or two similar to mine in much worse shape.

I think it's safe to say I need the lights, if anyone happens upon a box of gold just lying around.,

Finally recently finished building my Trek/Gary Fisher "X/caliber" 29er gravel bike, myself and my bro Mike went for a lazy test ride yesterday, just over 22kms round trip, city concrete to flowing undulating wood single track to volcanic gravel flat through the mangroves to tarseal ride around a small peninsula, looped round through some rooty reasonably technical up and down single-track through a wooded area and back onto the original single-track back into the city, rode well,I need to learn to lower the Tyre pressure as I ride 700c road bike sizes at around 90psi so I tend to run 29x 2 ish tyres at around 60psi which is way to high

'Tis a pretty cool place. Lots of construction going on right now in the heart of town. Looks like a bomb went off but will be nice when it's done. Shame that the dirt track looks unused at the park. The dirt jumps looked like they've been recently manicured but no tire tracks. My thinking is folks are taking advantage of open trails during the summer....👍👍 REALLY want to stay at the Stanley with cameras recording while I sleep. There have been at least a couple times in my past this would have been cool if it were done......👻💀👀👻

I hit the new pump track in Firestone yesterday & they now have the infield landscaping done. Met some nice people, one of which runs the local BMX track in Docono, CO.A fun day at the track!!🤓

Waaahhh! Lucky!!

In the light of day it's not feeling like the best way to go. There is way to much flex in it. It slows me down, but not quickly. I'll figure something out.

That attachment link does not work.
Scrapped that whole brake set up. Looking at lacing a drum brake into a front rim, just trying to locate one narrow enough and 36h.

The new Sturmey Archer front drum hubs are 4” wide. You may have to spread the fork a little. Model number is x-fd

Truly blessed & thankful!

Yesterday I rode Anthem park in Broomfield and had fun watching a thunderstorm blow over the northern Denver metro area. I was amazed at the dust storm being pushed out in front of the rain.

I intended to get some parts painted this weekend to get going on a build that stalled due to weather, time & my riding addiction. It's turned into a tour of pump tracks in my area with college football, rest & food. Going to meet a friend or 2 for a ride at another track later today. Maybe I'll get the lawn mowed. Maybe..... 🤷‍♂️

Absolutely gorgeous setting to ride in. I'm from Arizona in the dust bowl so I know a good Monsoon hit with a preemptive sandstorm wall. It's really a sight to see from afar.. not much seeing in 😵‍💫

Labor Day was spent riding the pump track in Superior where my addiction began with the friend that got me hooked!

Then mowed the lawn afterward before meeting a couple other friends for nutrients. I took my Felt Bandit.

4 different pump tracks in 4 days turned out to be a great way to spend the weekend in between good food, good friends & relaxation.

old man trying desperately to stay in bike racing. Hydra Cross in Holyoke, MA this past Sunday. Masters 60+ Cat 1-4. I suck so bad, this is the only picture they got of me, through someone else's bike, right after the barriers:

edit: pardon me, this is probably boring, but I found some photos online to buy:

I like to support the fellers and fellettes that are out there trying to make money with photography.

At least you’re out there getting after it

The theme for the penultimate Bike Night was "Purple" so I rode my Kustom Kruiser Roadster. The color is actually Black Cherry (I think) but if you shine a light brighter than the sun and look closely, there is a little purple...:crazy2: My Metallica shirt had some purple as well.

We ended up with around 83 riders on a beautiful night for a ride!
