I'm starting to think about next year's build off. I'm a tall guy at 6'4". Since I've been looking at a lot of builds, I've realized how high I have my seat set up to give me a decent ride... and it looks ridiculous. :?

For this project I'm thinking of a Board Track kind of style, but as a regular Board Track would look like a little BMX bike under me, I'm wondering if there was a large frame made for tall guys? Mountain Bikes come in various sizes, but I don't think modern cruisers do. Maybe the 29er would fit a little better, but no aftermarket or throwback parts are available, and I can't fabricate legos together without them catching of fire, so I am hoping there is an old frame out there for guys like me.

At 6'4", probably not. You can gain 2 inches on a cruiser frame by finding a prewar Schwinn frame that is a 20". (Frame size, not wheel size) Also, Schwinn made a 20" frame King Size American middleweight in the 60's, but again you are only gaining 2 inches. I have a Schwinn Continental with a really tall frame that fits me (I'm 6'2") but it's just not a cruiser frame. Face it, cruisers were designed for 12 yr. old kids. If someone laughs at this tall guy on a 50's cruiser, I figure I'm big enough to kick their butt. 8) Gary

Yeah, I'm only 6'0" but I have all my seats run up pretty high for riding comfort. There are definitely old bikes with more cockpit room for somebody taller but not so much on frame height.

I know the new Trek Cruisers have a 21" frame, And I'm 6"2" and I like the Electra "foot forward" technology. Plus finding a "lay back" type seat post will help you lower your seat and give you a little more stretch. I don't mind a high seat post, but I can't figure how they ride them with the seats mounted super low on the frame..... the bikes look cool though
