Face it, we all love riding outlandish bikes that get attention. The question is, what kind of attention? With this bike you'd get a lot of it, but it would all be people asking you what was the reason for the weird frame. You'd be all the time telling people, "It just looks like that- it doesn't do anything special."
But there are lots of funky lookin' bikes out there- the Townies are pretty durn homely, and a lot of folks ride them. All in what you like.

Re: what the H... eck?

Oh I don't know, maybe the idea of that tooth clearing stem sitting so close to someone's face might make me worry. Looks like the design was underwritten by an oral surgeon. I'd rate it about evenly goofy looking as some hybrids.

I'm with you CRASH, 2ft of head tube then he flips the bars looks dumb. And better be wearing a full wrap helmet in case a car pulls out in front of you.

Why worry if a car pulls out in front of you? Looks like a very stable design to me. It's not my cup of tea, but it looks better than most of these city bikes/hybrids that you see around. It has more style and a comfortable seating position and looks to be made very well.

Interesting you should say that, the model of the bike is the Virtue Ortho. (I wish I'd made that up, but it's true). But I found a guy sitting on it. The seating position is upright like all those goofy townies and hybrids and he is in a very safe position from what looked like a scary stem. Looks comfy too.

Re: what the H... eck?

I was wondering how short the effective top tube was last night, not as bad as I thought but I guess everyone has a different definition of safe, maybe only a thorax or pelvic injury

From a comfort point view the hand position looks closer to the body than I 'd like, both from handling and leverage for climbing aspects. At least the foot position is not as far forward as some townie/hybrids cough:Electra:cough which further exacerbates the climbing situation.

Re: what the H... eck?

How can this be comfy..Then pedal is at the 3 o'clock postion in the pic, lets see it at the 6 O'clock as he makes a sharp turn. If he's going at a good speed, and grabs the brake = nice stem to the sternum
"I can understand wanting to set yourself apart from other bikes, but when the design crosses into the ridiculous..." ya i'm with CRASH on this one

I'm more astounded by OP's number of posts in such a short time of being a member!
I like to talk shop. What can I say. I've been deployed for a couple years, so I have a lot of pent up... non-Navy stuff to get out of my system.
