More considerations for my project...trying to decide on what kind of handle bars to use on the rat I'm building. I'm 6'8", so I need something that's not going to get in my way when I pedal. Hard to tell from website photos what will work and what won't. I don't really want to use ape-hanger type, but if I need to, I guess I will.

So I know I'm not the only tall guy out there. What kind to you use on a 26" wheeled bike?

Thanks,
Dan

ill use regular middle weight bike bars(not flipped)standard cruiser bar(non flipped and also flipped and bobbed)and mountain bike bars (flipped)amazingly enough all of these a quite comfortable for me(im 6')

I am 6'6 and i have a set of stingray apehangers on my everyday cruiser. i find them to be most comfortable. i also ride with a set of 33" wide cruiser bars that are pretty comfortable.

You could try "chopped and flopped" bars like the fixie kids use on their roadbikes. See the "how to build a low buck fixie" under the other bikes.

I'm 6'8" also.. I really dont see any other option but apes and those big moon, half moon, texas style bars.. they are kinda like a half circle but real wide..they dont bang the knees like the regular cruiser bars..I know Electra sells them for a decent price.

Hey Firewalker, that orange stretch is awesome! Question: are the bars on the orange bike the same as the ones on the trike? I like the the ones on the orange bike, but can't tell if they are just positioned differently (or all together different) on the other bike.

Where do you guys get the "cattle horn" bars? Are these what I want:

yes they are

however I have found little differences depending on who made them. Some are wider..some have a different rise. Hard to tell unless you have them together :D

Hope this helps
