its a wald universal replacement guard and is pretty adjustable to fit lots of bikes

This is a 39-40 Sterling. I think it's the original guard.

some early bikes didnt come with chainguards and dealers would put on the wald. they made zillions of them I have seen them on about 40 different bikes over the years and even had a couple NOS ones. the big key is all the extra mounting holes on them which make them adaptable to lots of frames
