I'm torn between these two, the Crew Defender for $200 and the Trek FX1 Disc for $275. Both on Offer up. I would put 9.5" bmx bars on the Defender. I've wanted a 700c bike for a while now. Either would be for cruising, but the Trek I could also use more for fitness and put the hammer down and fly if I so choose.
I've had issues in the past with mild wrist pain and numbness riding bikes in a more forward position. Don't know if that would come into play with the Trek. I already have a Schwinn Heavy Duti and a Schwinn 5 speed Deluxe. The Heavy Duti is my main ride. Deluxe on windy days and when I want to pound the pedals and hammer.
The Heavy Duti is currently getting the Klunker treatment with a fresh coat of paint , bmx forks, and 9.5" bmx bars. The Defender would end up being a similar bike and I really don't know how my wrists will hold up with the Trek. Or I could just save my money as I'm completely content with my bikes. What say you?
