which way to go

I have an S7 rim (yes the one that had the worst patch ever on it) well the axles stripped and Im deciding which way to go with it Im thinking either lacing a 3 speed hub to it or just changing the axle. now my thing is would I need longer spokes to lace the 3 speed to the s7 rim or will I be able to use the spokes from the rim

Shorter spokes probably, most 3 speeds are bigger than a coaster brake hub is. You might get by with a 4 cross lacing but I'd rather measure the stuff and figure out what spoke length is best.

Wish I had new rims or even other rims but I dont. So its either rebuild the hub or swap it out. and I figure I could get more for it after its stripped and repainted by swapping it over to a 3 speed hub
